August 3, 2006 Jacksonville, Alabama The Mayor and Council of the City of Jacksonville, Alabama met in called session on Thursday, August 3, 2006, at 8:00 a.m. in City Hall Annex No.1. Mayor Johnny L. Smith called the meeting to order. Upon roll call, the following members were present: Mayor Smith and Council Members George L. Areno, Charles E. Notar, Jeff L. Shelton, and Sandra F. Sudduth. Council Member Jerry T. Parris was absent. The City Clerk and Finance Director were present. The City Attorney was absent. WAIVER OF NOTICE. A motion was made by Council Member Notar, seconded by Council Member Sudduth, to adopt the waiver of notice, as per attached original, for the called meeting. Upon vote on the motion, the following votes were recorded: Yeas: All; Nays: None. The Mayor announced the motion carried. RESIGNATION: ANGELA CRANE, POLICE COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER. A motion was made by Council Member Sudduth, seconded by Council Member Notar, to accept the resignation of Angela Crane, Police Communications Officer to accept the position of Municipal Court Clerk/Magistrate. Upon vote on the motion, the following votes were recorded: Yeas: All; Nays: None. The Mayor announced the motion carried. EMPLOYMENT: ANGELA CRANE, MUNICIPAL COURT CLERK / MAGISTRATE. A motion was made by Council Member Notar, seconded by Council Member Areno, to approve the employment of Angela Crane as Municipal Court Clerk/Magistrate in Range 34, Step 10, effective August 9, 2006, and request the Civil Service Board’s approval of this action. Upon vote on the motion, the following votes were recorded: Yeas: All; Nays: None. The Mayor announced the motion carried. ADVANCE EXPENSE RESOLUTION: FIRE OFFICER I SCHOOL, GARY STEWARD. A motion was made by Council Member Sudduth, seconded by Council Member Areno, to approve an Advance Expense Resolution of $150.00 for Gary Steward to attend Fire Officer I School August 14-18, 2006 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Upon vote on the motion, the following votes were recorded: Yeas: All; Nays: None. The Mayor announced the motion carried. ATTEST:
