Jacksonville Arts Council presents 2nd Annual Christmas Village
The Jacksonville Arts Council hosted its 2nd Annual Christmas Village at the Jacksonville Community Center Saturday. 58 vendors had all kinds of holiday and personal gifts for shoppers to purchase. A craft area for the children was a favorite attraction this year. Children were able to make holiday ornaments at no charge. What would a holiday event be without Santa? Soft Innocence Photography was on hand taking photos with St. Nick. Owner Brandi Kay donated a portion of her proceeds to JAC for the schools. The crowd was entertained with holiday music by Kitty Stone Singers and The Jacksonville High School Choir. Each organization was presented with a donation check by JAC President Nancy Gillespie.
“Everything went quite smoothly”, said Gillespie. “Most of last year’s vendors returned, and plan on coming back next year. The children’s shop was great. Children were able to buy lots of awesome gifts for their parents and siblings. We are very pleased with how everything turned out and want to thank everyone that helped to make this holiday event possible.”
