Jacksonville's utility resources:
  • Electric service for the City of Jacksonville is provided by Alabama Power Company, a subsidiary of the Southern Company.
  • Jacksonville has an abundant water supply. Two primary sources of water are Germania Springs and Big Springs with a combined average flow of 1.5 million gallons each day.  Both springs are widely known for their outstanding water quality.  Jacksonville also uses a minimum of 6 million gallons per month (as needed) from Coldwater Springs.
  • Natural gas is supplied by the Jacksonville Utilities Board and a major portion of the county by Alabama Gas Corporation (Alagasco).
