The purpose of the Training Division is to ensure the proficiency and competency of each member of our department. Training consists of continuous shift level training, courses taken at other locations and certification courses offered through the department.
Our Training Officer is Assistant Chief Keith Kadle. He is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of all fire service-related training activities. Chief Kadle has received certifications as Firefighter II, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor III, Fire Investigator, Apparatus Operator, Aerial Operator and Emergency Medical Technician - Basic.

Live Fire Training
Recently live fire training was conducted at the department's training area. Big Oak FD loaned the Mobile Live Fire Training Unit to provide this valuable training to our new volunteer members attending the Volunteer Firefighter Certification Course.
